As a child, I was drawn to capture what I saw using a camera. At the age of 9 when my stepfather's camera was stolen out of the car in Yorkshire, England, I wasn't sad about the loss of the camera, but for the pictures that I had taken that I would never see developed. I still have some images from that time, and remember posing my family just off the path for a portrait at Blarney Castle in England.
I am grateful for my family having lived in Europe for two and a half years - first in England, then France where I learned to speck French - where we traveled often, visiting cathedrals, old castles, the great art museums of London and Paris. I'm currently based in the Raleigh, NC area, having also lived in Southern Oregon, the California Gold Country, and the San Diego area. I went to high school in Palo Alto, CA and Washington DC.
Starting in high school I became a self taught photographer, learning by reading and experimentation. I have tried my hand variously at editorial, fashion, portraiture, action sports, and had a successful wedding business. But my passion, the thing that gives me the most satisfaction, is landscape photography. Ansel Adams was an early influence, and his ethic influences me to this day. I love being out in nature, experiencing with all my senses, and making photographs.
I share here images I have gathered over the years, some taken near places that I lived, some captured during my travels, and will bring new images as they come into being. I hope you enjoy the view of the world that I capture.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
